Sanctuary Students Solidarity and Support Collective (S4)
Our main objectives are to support Sanctuary Students with navigating various levels of education in Ontario; and to support programs and institutions to increase equitable access for these populations. As such, the group works to identify and respond to ongoing and emerging barriers that prevent the full and equitable participation of Sanctuary Students in existing educational institutions. Youth participating in the collective have described feeling more connected, supported and equipped with important knowledge and skill-sets. While we continue to grow, we recognize that there is a long road ahead....
What we do
We believe education should be accessible to everyone. By working directly with students, partnering with community organizations, and sharing knowledge and resources, S4 helps create more equitable pathways to post-secondary education.
Student Support
Supporting students through community, workshops, mentorship, and guidance as they navigate post-secondary education and unfamiliar systems.
Community Partnerships
Collaborating with schools, settlement agencies, and community organizations to deliver workshops, consultations, and initiatives that strengthen equitable access to education.
Knowledge Sharing
Developing and sharing research, educational resources, and practical tools that empower individuals and organizations with accessible, community-informed information.
